What does it mean?

What the platform's methodological features are called in social science terminology.

Quota sampling
Fills your sample in set proportions across subgroups such as age, gender or generation. Once a cell reaches its target, participation for that group stops, keeping the sample representative.
Random assignment
Distributes participants across experimental conditions (A/B/C/D) randomly and in balance. It safeguards the internal validity of comparisons between groups.
Screening criteria
Ends the survey for participants who don't meet your inclusion and exclusion criteria, before they enter the dataset. Every screening reason is reported separately.
Manipulation check
Verifies whether participants perceived the experimental manipulation as intended. Participants who didn't are flagged.
Attention check item
An embedded question that tests whether the participant is reading the items ("select X for this question"). It helps filter out careless responses.
Straight-lining
Flags thoughtless responses that give the same option to every item, based on timing and variance.
Participant funnel
Shows the transitions from started → screened out → dropped out → completed, so you can see where losses concentrate.
Paradata
A trace of response behaviour: event type, item and time. What was typed is never recorded; participants may include minors.

Sampling and quota management

Representative, balanced samples

Quota sampling fills your sample across subgroups in proportions you set in advance.

How it works

Example: once conditions A and D are full, new participants are routed only to B and C, keeping the two balanced.

Experimental design

Protect internal validity

Participants are assigned to conditions randomly and in balance. Block randomisation keeps cells evenly filled.

Supports

Screening

Ineligible participants never reach your data

Participants who don't meet your criteria are politely ended mid-survey, and their responses stay out of your analysis.

Example criteria

Every screening reason is reported separately: you see how many people were screened out by each criterion.

Data quality

A dataset you can trust

Automatic flags help you judge how reliable the collected data is. You can exclude flagged responses with one click.

Includes

Participant funnel and paradata

See where your data is lost

Follow the flow from started → screened out → dropped out → completed, and drill into the list at each stage.

Paradata

Events such as page views, focus on an item and time spent are recorded. What the participant types is never part of this record.

Responses are saved block by block: even if a participant drops out, the blocks they finished are kept.

SPSS and CSV output

Analysis-ready data

Features

Faculty member

Experimental studies, paper data.

Typical use

Sets up a 2×2 factorial experiment. The system assigns participants to conditions in balance; manipulation checks weed out inconsistent responses, and the SPSS file takes them straight into analysis.

Features they use

Graduate student

Thesis data collection, sampling.

Typical use

Tracks quotas in the thesis sample. Sees which cell is falling short and aims the call for participants at that group; screened-out and dropped-out participants are reported separately.

Features they use

Applied research

Consumer and brand studies.

Typical use

Compares two stimulus variants experimentally. A different image is shown in each condition, and results are exported by condition.

Features they use

Institution / department

A shared research workspace.

Typical use

Researchers in a department work in one workspace, each with their own role. Shared scale templates and a single invoice.
